Ahh, conferences. On the one hand, I've gotten to hear a number of interesting talks about various aspects of evolutionary physiology. On the other hand, yesterday afternoon a nasty sinus headache started brewing, so I eventually trudged back to the hostel to try and get some sleep (fruitlessly). Then I figured that I would need to eat something eventually anyway, so I might as well make a cameo appearance at a social event for insect physiologists, and wound up staying a good while to chat with some colleagues from back in the grad school days.

Conferences always inspire me to get back to analyzing data and writing up papers. I'm glad that I've started attending this meeting in particular, as it's full of people asking good questions related to the kinds of things I'm fascinated by.

Hey, you and isidorenabi should probably be reading each other's journals. She doesn't post a lot, but her tagline is "god is an ant" and she has a significant background in physical biology stuff.

Indeed, I know exactly which conference you're at. Used to be the only one I went to, back when I was doing that kind of thing. Hope you're enjoying Berkeley!

Hahaha, yep, it's a small world!

And, yes, I'm enjoying Berkeley overall, although I do miss Nebraska for a number of things. :^)

Conferences always inspire me to read and write more too. Too bad I don't get around to it. (But see upcoming post about goals about those exact things. Drafted before I freaked out about my current workload...)
