Status [mostly crickets]

So, the crickets are recovering from their late-August malaise. It was the wheat germ. But that problem, combined with poor-quality care while we were in Sedgwick, means that our lab populations went through a size bottleneck. First priority goes to keeping the stocks alive; experiments are a secondary priority. Each week we have a chance to assess the numbers, and they're still borderline at the moment. No more experiments yet.

I am going to Boston towards the end of the month for a week. Then I am back for a week, then I go to Denver for a conference for a week. That makes it very difficult to schedule in any circadian trials.

Will I actually get to finish this set of experiments, including the validations that C has requested?

Better not to think about it too hard.

Academic job application deadlines create a higher baseline stress level.

Allergens must be crazily high right now. Even after taking loratidine last night, this morning while biking around my eyes itched like mad and my sinuses expressed their unhappiness.

Back to data analysis and writing.
