I miss good air

I think the main urban culprit in Paris is the cigarette smoke. It makes me nauseous and even wakes me up at night.

In London I suspect a combination of motor vehicle exhaust and other urban pollution.

I am pretty sure both cities are above my ideal size threshold. It will be interesting to learn how the Bay Area fares in that regard.

Bay Area air quality is probably the best of any metropolitan area I've seen, outside of Salt Lake City, UT. And it's one of the better bicycle-friendly cities, though still perilous with all the buses and taxis.

Ugh, yeah, sympathy. I pretty much hated England in its entirety for that reason. Couldn't breathe, no fun. I haven't seen Paris outside France, but it was challenging. On the plus side, it does make me appreciate many American cities where it's better than that. (Not all, I hate LA for this reason.)

Out here in the countryside now is MUCH better. I suspect that the large European cities are just a bit too big for me.

Santa Clara is nearly ideal. Nice air, fairly nice weather, TONS of good bike space. I can't say enough good things about it.

Hmm! I've never visited...perhaps I'll make it there once I move out to CA.
