!! Dublin

London is the sort of city that would gradually grind my soul down to a powder.

Dublin, in contrast, is cosy and twee. I walked over to a big old cemetary and the royal botanic gardens and took a million photos of gorgeous things. Then I walked towards downtown for dinner and some mighty fine gelato. Who could say no to cherry-pistachio gelato? The dark chocolate was stupendous as well.

I like how all the houses here are snugged up against each other with twee gardens.

I don't have any Irish heritage to get all worked up over, but I was kind of amazed by a gift shop loaded with Irish paraphernalia.

One night is but a small sample, but I am glad for it even though I am ready to go home by now.

The hostel here is fun. It's the second nunnery-turned-hostel I've ever stayed in. The first one was called The Nunnery, located in Melbourne. More interesting than the modern hostel buildings in Paris and London. That element makes the place feel strangely familiar.
