Not quite "weaving in traffic"

scrottie followed me in to work this morning, to learn my route and learn the location of Berkeley Espresso (things tried so far: Yali's Cafe, the People's Cafe, Berkeley Espresso). While we waited to cross Shattuck at the traffic light on Hearst, I glanced left and saw a driver working on some knitting while waiting for the light to change. Festive holiday gift, perhaps?

Artist and Craftsman Supply did not have my pens (Pilot V-Ball Xtra Fine). Nor did Aaron Brothers Art and Framing. Clerks at both stores suggested the nearby Staples. My (irrational) hatred for big-box office supply businesses is prevailing, so I will see about ordering them online.

Moving to a new state is expensive, and I am running low on time for the acquisition of festive Christmahanukkahkwanzaasolstice gifts (besides, we're already about halfway through Hanukkah, right?). It's tricky when no-time and no-money coincide, as they so often do for academics. Sigh. First world problems.
