Big goals in the transitional period

Goal 1: Develop a phenomenal, world-class Comparative Physiology course, starting by teaching an engaging, effective Animal Physiology course this spring.

Larger-scale inspiration must come from efforts like this one in Anthropology. Translating this kind of perspective over to physiology may be challenging. I feel like the traditional approaches are more deeply ingrained for physiology. So how can I start to work on changing that?

Goal 2: Return to a more consistent and productive writing schedule, and focus efforts on writing manuscripts in mid-2018.

In this regard, I must figure out living arrangements that will facilitate the time and space for writing. My general observation about human nature is that we humans have a hard time sustaining focus for thinking-intensive tasks such as writing. I function best in very low-stimulus environments - for example, that glorious period before my office space in Texas got taken over by chatty graduate students and undergraduates. I need to proactively make that happen.

Can you sit in a refrigerator box with interior lighting and a fan?
