Cream cubes [first world problems]

I just reinvented ice cream this morning.

To explain: while at work, I sporadically find myself wishing for a beverage that benefits from a little splash of dairy - milk or cream. The problem is the "sporadic" part. If I drank something every day, I could just pack something along with me, and all would be fine. But because this desire is sporadic, I frequently wind up with no beverage, or with dairy product that has spoiled.

I've been scratching my head over this for a little while - what to do? I searched teh internets for ideas - maybe it's possible to get powdered cream, like powdered milk? Ehh, not really. Shelf-stable stuff all has disgusting additives in it, plus there's all the packaging waste. No thanks.

This morning, it finally dawned on me that maybe I could just freeze some cream in an ice cube tray, and have cream cubes to add to beverages. Oh, wait...there's a name for that...ice cream.
