AZ Pallet Garden

The thing about gardening is...we can't help ourselves. We can't NOT garden.

This morning before work, I undid the stitching on two of the coffee bags, and turned them into a shade structure for the pallet garden.

Behold, in all its glory:
Pallet garden

I am so pleased to have obtained soil by a means that isn't plastic. I am also pleased by the overall aesthetic of this garden.

I want to sweep up the excess soil on the patio, but that's a project that can wait until later. I wanted to make sure to get the shade up to protect the tiny Black Prince tomato seedlings from the Arizona sun, as soon as possible.

Now I'm dreaming about all sorts of other gardening things, for a future hypothetical garden. More Mara de Bois strawberry plants. How to get artichoke plants to survive northerly winters. Pepper plants. More cute succulents. Someday, a sour cherry tree to call my own. Someday.
