Crisp shifting

New Bike Day finally arrived!

The mechanics insisted there needed to be a New Bike Day photo. So did S. I don't have copies of any of the photos yet.

I haven't been on a bike with such nice, crisp shifting in a while.

This one is a Long Haul Trucker, and it is SO NICE to be on a bike that's set up for heavy cargo again. I'm also a bit surprised at how light it feels.

I wish I could feel giddy with excitement, but that's counterbalanced by a substantial price tag, and wistful feelings about the Jolly Roger. The price still a drop in the bucket compared to a car, though; this is all just happening at a time when finances were already tight.

My second final exam was this morning. I brought donuts again, but the students hardly ate any. Ah well. Can't say I blame them.

Now to decide how to scuff up the bike. Hmm.
