Coffee is a drug

And it makes people do weird things, as evidenced by the new Starbucks palace in Seattle. I was startled when walking past this thing on what must have been close to its opening day - a long line strung out along the sidewalk.

I want to write something coherent about what's happening with mason jars these days, too (see the end of the article, which mentions this expensive mason jar thing thing), but I'm not sure I can put all my feelings in words yet. It's one of those "on the one hand...but on the other hand..." kinds of situations. At least with this expensive mason jar thing, when the glass breaks, it's easily replaced, unlike the glass beaker-style ones, which are expensively and inconveniently replaced. On the other hand, wouldn't a hand-crocheted cozy look better? How many mason jar lid adapters does the world need?

"Strung out" may be the operative phrase here. :)

My mason jar cozy both slid off the jar and got all dirty.

*shakes fist at mason jar cozies*

I could see that happening with straight-sided mason jars...that would require a good, snug cozy. I guess my main frame of reference is my caribiner mug cozy, which is held in place by the caribiner handle:
