The Four Agreements

To some extent, it's a crazy book. I haven't picked it up in a long time; so long, that I'd forgotten some of the four agreements:

1. Be impeccable with your word.
2. Don't make any assumptions.
3. Don't take anything personally.
4. Always do your best.

I think item #1 makes it hard for me when I hear people misuse words (and why it pains me greatly when I misuse words).

I found this book to be a wonderful tool. For several years I had #3 (Don't take anything personally) pasted up on my fridge in purple paint on thick white watercolor paper. I am much better at it now, but I think I need to backtrack and spend some time on #2. For me, increased stress = increased assumptions because it's faster and my mind thinks it's easier. "Easier." Heh.

:p

I had to pull the book out as a coping mechanism, and I'm right there with you on what happens under increased stress or impatience.
